SUNY Oneonta CHLD 170 Children in Families class is now available at Massapequa High School!  Students taking this college course must have previously completed Parenting and Child Development. "Children in Families" is a full year child development, 3 credit course, that participates in the Child Study Preschool program. So some of your big buddies will be back as CHLD 170 students and/or Interns. Yea!
Students in this course must observe and participate with a child in the program for at least 30 hours over the school year. Their final exam is a 3 page paper on their little buddy's development and how environment and other factors affect children's development.
Both morning and afternoon sessions will have one 41 minute class of CHLD 170 students. And at least one class of Child Study students. CHLD 170 is only available to Juniors and Seniors that have passed Parenting and Child Development (with Child Study) in a previous year.
